Boron nitride is resistant to chemical erosion. It begins to oxidize in air above 1200 ℃.It begins to decompose at about 2700°C in vacuum. Its relative density is 2.29 g/cm3.The maximum operating temperature is 900°C in the oxidizing atmosphere and up to 2800°C in the inactive reducing atmosphere. Most properties of boron nitride are better than carbon materials. Hexagonal boron nitride has the characteristics of low friction coefficient, good high temperature stability, good thermal shock resistance, low expansion coefficient, and corrosion resistance.
Hot extrusion dies are key components and wearing parts in the hot extrusion process of metal profiles, and are widely used in the hot extrusion molding of copper alloys and aluminum alloys. The cermet mold developed by our company features metal W as the matrix and alumina as the wear-resistant medium, providing better performance and longer service life.
