Product Introduction
Niobium (Nb) is a refractory rare metal with a steel gray color. It exhibits high specific gravity (niobium 8.6), high melting point (niobium 2,467°C), high boiling point (niobium 4,740°C), good strength, fatigue resistance, deformation resistance, corrosion resistance, heat conduction , superconductivity, unipolar conduction and gas absorption, along with other outstanding characteristics. Niobium and tantalum belong to the same group in the periodic table of elements, and their properties are very similar. They coexist in nature in niobate and tantalate minerals. Chemists discovered niobium and tantalum from the niobite (collum)-tantalite series of minerals in the early 19th century. Niobium exhibits good corrosion resistance, excellent cold working performance and outstanding electrical properties as an oxide film, and has many important uses. It has the ability to refine grains in steel, and is widely used in the steel and electronics industries, as well as in aerospace, atomic energy, and ocean development.
