Product Series

Invar

Product Introduction

Invar alloy (Invar) is composed of 64% Fe and 36% Ni, and features a face-centered cubic structure. Its grade is 4J36 and its density is 7.98g/cm3. Invar alloy is also called inflatable steel. Its average thermal expansion coefficient at room temperature is 1.6x10-6℃, and it is relatively stable at indoor temperatures from -80℃ to +230℃. The carbon content of Invar alloy is less than 0.05%, its hardness and strength are not high; tensile strength is about 517Mpa, yield strength is about 276Mpa, and the Vickers hardness is about 160. Its strength can be increased through cold deformation, while still retaining good plasticity with increased strength.

Product Application

Invar alloy is mainly used in glass packaging that matches electrical components with hard glass, soft glass, and ceramics.
